As we come to the end of Pride Month, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to highlight a few of the awesome employers who are headquartered in Chicago (the home of Nubundle!) that provide outstanding support and resources to their LGBTQ employees.
Hyatt offers equivalent spousal and partner benefits, as well as transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage. The company has also been recognized by Human Rights Campaign (HRC) as a ‘Best Place To Work’ for LGBT Equality for several consecutive years and received a perfect score from the Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality.
LGBTQ employees and allies at Groupon are supported through its Employee Resource Group, “Pride@Groupon.” The group’s mission is to provide opportunities for its employees to network, learn and grow both professionally and personally with LGBTQ groups in the community. Groupon is also participating in the 2019 Chicago Pride parade.
According to its website, United is “committed to creating an inclusive work environment while contributing to the diverse communities we serve. At United, we recognize, embrace and celebrate the differences that make our customers and employees unique.” In 1999 United was the first airline in the U.S. to recognize domestic partnerships and provide comprehensive fringe benefits. When gay marriage was legalized, the company expanded its programs to make sure the same-gender and opposite-gender spouses received equal health and travel benefits.
ShopRunner supports Brave Space Alliance, a South Side Chicago based LGBTQ organization, with its proceeds from the Pride party it hosts for employees, friends, and family during Pride month. The company also hosts a raffle during the party with all proceeds going to the Trevor Project.
From inclusive health insurance to support groups in the workplace, recognizing the needs of the LGBTQ community is a must in 2019. At Nubundle, we are committed to ensuring every employee at the companies we partner with are able to receive the fertility services and support they need if they wish to grow their family.
If you’re attending Chicago’s Pride events this year, don’t forget to check out the employers participating in this year’s Chicago Pride parade on June 30th. Happy Pride, Chicago!
